built: A Go wc clone: 32KB buffer + ASCII state machine, ReadAt concurrency, boundary-peeking, SIMD bytes.Count, zero-copy mmap.
outcome: 10.6× faster on a Ryzen 5 5600H + NVMe, verified with hyperfine + perf.
